Pets belonging to the team at local trust company Whitmill will be helping local animals in need this Christmas.
The staff at Whitmill have created a ‘PET’-tacular new calendar for 2019 starring their pets to raise much needed money for the JSPCA.
The charity which celebrated its 150th anniversary earlier this year, launched a ‘Save our Shelter’ campaign in October in a big effort to avoid closure.
Monty the cat is the feline face of March and was a Shelter moggie before being given a home by Trust and Company Administrator Lauranna Leathem who came up with the idea for the calendar along with Whitmill’s Melanie Cadic-Edwards who’s Shih Tzu Dexter is looking picture perfect in November .
Commenting on their fundraiser Lauranna said, “Monty had been unwanted and returned to the Animal Shelter twice, but he has now found his forever home with us and couldn’t be more perfect for our family.
“I really think our Island would be at a great loss without the Shelter and that’s why we wanted to do our bit to help them through their financial difficulties.”

Melanie added, “The charity costs about a million pounds a year to operate and is funded entirely by public donations and legacies. They really do provide an invaluable service and do amazing work and I have always believed in giving unwanted animals a second chance to have a home they deserve!”
The calendar is available for a minimum donation of £5 with £4 from every sale going directly to the JSPCA. Oliver Bartlett of local print and production firm Lab 6 wanted to help the charity too and has generously subsidised all the printing costs.
Calendars are available from the Whitmill offices at First Floor, 17 the Esplanade or by emailing info@whitmill.com.
