C5 Alliance gains two promising service desk engineers

C5 Alliance in Guernsey has appointed Kurtis Richards and Ray Darags as service desk engineers to its growing managed services team.

Both Mr Richards and Mr Darags will report to client relationship manager, Adrian Bott. Mr Richards’ responsibilities will include streamlining processes and procedures in the managed services team while Mr Darags’ will provide high quality software, server and desktop support to all client systems.

Mr Richards has been a founding member and director of three independent businesses; Kairos Games Ltd, an award winning games design studio; Just Games, a games retail outlet in Guernsey; and TinkTec Studios Limited, an independent games design studio.  He recently used his extensive experience in gaming to organise the successful 48 hour Game Jam event, held in January at the Digital Greenhouse.

With ten years of experience in IT, predominantly developing his knowledge from first line telephone support to onsite third line IT and hardware support, Mr Richards has worked in roles such as IT specialist at Credit Suisse and service desk analyst at SG Hambros Bank in Guernsey.

He also holds a Foundation degree in Design for Games and a Bachelor of Science degree in Games Audio Design from Staffordshire University.

Mr Darags studied for a BTEC diploma in IT for Level 2 practitioners at the Guernsey College of Further Education. Mr Darags has gained over seven years of experience in retail where he developed his passion for IT.

After joining the team as a service desk engineer at the end of 2015, Mr Darags began studying for foundation-level qualifications including CompTIA A+, which validates the understanding of hardware and software technologies in business and certifies the skills necessary to support complex IT.
