The growth of Saffery Champness’ audit and trust departments has been reflected in its recent promotions including one at management level.
Claire Bufton joined Saffery Champness in July 2011, undertaking the roles of audit senior and audit supervisor before her promotion to audit manager earlier this year.
As a chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Ms Bufton has recently expanded her audit client portfolio to include a diverse range of sectors including private equity funds, investment property funds, fund managers, funds listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, registered fiduciaries and charities.
During her time at Saffery’s, Ms Bufton has been able to pursue her interest in corporate finance work and has become part of the liquidations team leading her to become a member of The Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts (ARIES) in the Channel Islands.
Jake Dutot and Lucy Dodd have also been prompted to audit semi-senior and senior trust officer respectively.

Throughout 2015 Saffery Champness has been named Guernsey Trust Company of the Year at the Citywealth International Financial Centres Awards, been listed as one of eprivateclient’s Top 25 Trust Companies, received the bronze award in the ‘Company of the year award: Female Leadership (Professional services)’ category at the inaugural Citywealth Power Women awards and had the inclusion of four of the company’s directors on the Citywealth Leaders List.
