Sure’s popular Big Screen event will return this summer with a range of free films shown on the big outdoor screen on the grass by Cobo beach.
Titles confirmed include Oscar-winning La La Land and ultimate Star Wars fan film Rogue One.
Following the positive feedback from last year’s event, Sure Big Screen will kick off when schools break-up for the summer holidays on Friday 21 July.
Sure Big Screen has always been a family friendly event and this year organisers have secured two extra shows on Saturday and Sunday for little viewers. Back to back Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly episodes will be shown from 1pm with the feature-length films starting at 2:30pm. There will also be a soft play area, a bouncy castle, face painters and the balloon man Cobo to entertain small children over the weekend.
A number of themed days during the event offer a range of films to suit all film fans.
Classics day on Saturday 22 July will see popular films from days gone by such as Wayne’s World, Disney’s Aladdin, and Three Men and a Baby showcased.
New film day on Sunday 23 July will feature comedy music animation Sing, the critically acclaimed Collateral Beautyand Disney’s remastered favourite Beauty and the Beast.
Monday 24 July will see the return of superheroes day where film fans are encouraged to dress up as their favourite superhero or heroine and post a photo on social media using #SureSuperheroes to be in with the chance of winning some great prizes.
Showing on the day will be family-favourite The LEGO Batman Movie, action-packed Ant-Man and the mystical Doctor Strange.

“The outdoor cinema event is always a family friendly occasion and with the addition of Peppa Pig and the children’s activities we are looking forward to what should be a great week of family fun and films.”
Sure Big Screen will take place from Friday 21 July to Thursday 27 July with three films showing every day.
