Kleinwort Benson has expanded its Private Wealth Management Team following the consolidation of its Channel Islands wealth management business into Guernsey.
Paul Garrard, who previously spent 24 years with Kleinwort Benson, has returned to head up the Channel Islands Portfolio Management Team. Mr Garrard, who is a Chartered Wealth Manager, has recently been promoted to a director of Kleinwort Benson (CI) Investment Management Limited.
‘The team has decades of experience in private wealth management and this expertise, alongside Kleinwort Benson’s history and reputation, will prove invaluable in ensuring that the bank is at the forefront of the industry in terms of product offering and investment management,’ said Mr Garrard, who sits on the Guernsey committee of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Emma Yau joined Kleinwort Benson two years ago and has recently been promoted to Private Banker. Prior to this she was an Assistant Private Banker, providing support to the Private Bankers with all aspects of client service. In her new role, Mrs Yau, who is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, will build and manage her own portfolio of clients.
‘During the last two years I have learned much from my highly experienced colleagues. Combining that knowledge with my professional qualifications will allow me to deliver a full range of solutions to our clients and I am looking forward to developing and strengthening long lasting relationships, both with Kleinwort Benson’s prospective and existing clients,’ she said.
Amy Merrien has been promoted to Assistant Private Banker having joined Kleinwort Benson as a Banking Operations Administrator in 2012. She moved across to the Private Wealth Management Team in July last year as a Client Service Executive.
‘Having worked with the team for more than a year, I already have an excellent understanding of what is important to our clients and I want to ensure that I develop solid relationships with them using the customer service skills and technical knowledge I have gained in my previous roles,’ she said.
Mark Bright, Managing Director of Kleinwort Benson, said growing the Private Wealth Management Team was an important part of the company’s future plans.
‘The consolidation of the private wealth management business from the Isle of Man and Jersey to Guernsey, together with some key senior appointments, demonstrates the company’s commitment to the island as a Centre of Excellence,’ he said.
‘The aim is to build on Kleinwort Benson’s well-established brand and drive the growth of assets under management both on and off balance sheet by the Private Wealth Management Team. Having a strong team in place allows us to meet the needs of our clients, both now and in the future.’
