Mourant Ozannes is further bolstering its Corporate and Funds Team with the appointment of leading Guernsey funds and corporate lawyer, Frances Watson, as Partner.

The appointment further enhances the firm's capacity to service its rapidly-expanding corporate and funds practice in Guernsey, which specialises in advising on high value, complex and multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Mourant Ozannes Partner and Head of Corporate in Guernsey, John Lewis, said: "This is a real coup for us. Frances has an enviable track-record, and is highly respected as one of the strongest corporate lawyers in the Guernsey market. Frances brings with her a pedigree and level of experience that we are confident will help us to maintain the significant momentum we have behind our growth strategy, in what has already been a very busy year."

Frances has over 15 years' experience and has developed a practice that focuses on investment funds, stock exchange listings and other corporate transactions. A Guernsey Advocate, she previously worked for onshore Magic Circle firm, Allen & Overy. She joins Mourant Ozannes from Ogier.

Mourant Ozannes Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, added: "Frances is one of the best and brightest lawyers in the Guernsey market and is well known for her collegiate, team-based approach to servicing client needs.  These are attributes that we value highly at Mourant Ozannes and it's fantastic to be welcoming her to the team.  We continue to build our partner firepower in Guernsey and have had an exceptional year of appointments which included the internal promotions of Helen Wyatt and John Rochester to partner in February. Collectively, Frances, Helen and John add great strength, diversity and expertise to our Guernsey team and to the global practice which services sophisticated client needs that regularly demand the delivery of integrated and seamless multi-jurisdictional advice."

Commenting on her appointment, Frances Watson said: "I am really thrilled to be joining the impressive team of lawyers at Mourant Ozannes. The firm has a unique all-equity model that ensures its partnership acts cohesively and this attracts some of the highest quality and exciting transactional work in the market. I am very much looking forward to being part of this as the firm continues to drive its strategic growth ambitions."
