EY has recently appointed two managers with international experience in tax and audit to its Guernsey office.
Adeel Ajmal and Gary Maclachlan have joined the EY Guernsey office as senior manager and manager of the audit and tax teams, respectively.
Mr Ajmal, a chartered accountant and public finance accountant, has eleven years’ experience in financial services audit and has worked in Vietnam, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
In his previous role Mr Ajmal specialised in applying his knowledge of audit and internal controls to the banking and insurance sectors. He also has expertise in the fields of accounting, business process improvement, restructuring and due diligence.
Mr Maclachlan has a degree in accounting and a postgraduate diploma in taxation. He gained seven years’ experience working in a variety of tax roles in South Africa before moving to Guernsey.
He is experienced in all aspects of tax compliance and has consulted on a variety of corporate and individual tax matters. Mr Maclachlan has also provided regular training for audit and tax teams.
