Nine Guernsey Electricity staff were rewarded for serving 150 years with the company between them.

Two employees – Sandra Forsey and Paul Creed – have been with Guernsey Electricity for 30 years, while Tamara Simon and Andy Bowditch have served two decades.

A further five staff members – Robert Dean, Tim Hargest, Stacey Le Page, John McCartney and Stuart Tucker – reached their 10-year anniversary.

‘It’s always a proud moment when a member of staff reaches a long-service milestone and it’s particularly rewarding to have so many reach significant work anniversaries. We have a loyal employee base at Guernsey Electricity and I like to think that is due, in part, to the working environment we provide,’ said Guernsey Electricity CEO, Alan Bates.

‘Consistency and good morale always help with the smooth running of any business and I am very grateful for their commitment to Guernsey Electricity.’

Mrs Forsey joined Guernsey Electricity in 1987 in the data entry department; she is now a credit controller.

‘I have had the opportunity to work in our office with a great bunch of people that have now become life time friends, in and out of work. It’s lovely to have watched Guernsey Electricity grow to what it is today,’ she said.

All nine staff members received gifts including watches, Condor vouchers and ‘power pounds’ at a special long-service ceremony at the company’s Northside headquarters.
