A month after Ogier's commercial property team retained its top tier ranking in the Legal 500 directory, the firm is supporting construction awards for innovation and rising stars in Jersey and Guernsey.
The awards celebrate achievements and showcase the successes of the wide range of professional services that make up the industry, from architects to engineers, contractors to surveyors, and property agents to project managers.
Ogier is sponsoring the Guernsey Construction Awards and the Rising Star Award at Beau Sejour on Friday 14th October and the Jersey Construction Awards and the Best Use of Innovation Award at the Hotel de France the following night.
Last month, Ogier's Jersey commercial property, planning and construction team retained its tier one ranking in the Legal 500 Directory, with partners Jonathan Hughes and Julie Melia named as 'leading individuals' and which noted that the 'very strong personnel' on the team 'always look after their clients well and offer wise counsel'.
Having launched its Guernsey property team in December under experienced property lawyer Martyn Baudains – also described as a 'leading individual' by Legal 500 – Ogier now offers a pan-island property, planning and construction service including advice on regulatory, health and safety, environmental and employment law to the construction sector.
Jonathan said: "These are promising times for the construction sector across the Channel Islands, and having developed our offering with a Planning and Construction law specialist – who recently won an appeal for a development of 169 homes to go head in St Helier – alongside the wider commercial property team we are seeing increased levels of activity.
"There's a great deal of innovation taking place in the sector and a lot of rising stars to celebrate, so we're very happy to be sponsoring both the individual awards and the ceremony itself."
