Ogier Guernsey employees have raised over £8,000 for the Headway Guernsey.
Each year, staff at the firm nominate one charity to receive the monies raised from a number of fund-raising activities throughout the year. The partners of Ogier have agreed to double this sum, so that the total this year is £8,492.76.
Headway Guernsey supports over 50 islanders, and their families, who are living with the long-term effects of a brain injury. They provide a wide range of services that bring people together in a supportive and positive environment. They run a helpline offering information and advice and providing the opportunity to talk to others who have been through similar experiences.
At Headway, people with a brain injury can build their confidence, learn new skills, relearn old skills and support each other.
Marcus Leese, partner at Ogier Guernsey, said "Ogier employees work hard all year round to raise funds through different activities and everyone takes part either by giving their time or financial donations. We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy local cause."
The cheque was presented to Philippa Stahelin, Executive Director of the local branch, by Marcus Leese. Philippa said "As you can imagine I was delighted with the phone call from Ogier to say that they had raised such a phenomenal amount for Headway. We rely entirely on local support to run our regular services helping members get their lives back on track post brain injury, so we are so grateful for Ogier's amazing donation."
There is a regular programme of social events and information evenings and an active family support programme where family groups meet monthly. If anyone is interested in fundraising, please contact Phillipa Stahelin on 07781 434629 or visit www.headwayguernsey.com.
