Saffery Champness Registered Fiduciaries has been named ‘Trust Company of the Year Institutional’ at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2016.

The awards ceremony, which took place last Thursday (12 May) at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London, saw the firm win this prestigious award from a shortlist of four global trust companies.

Now in its 11th year, the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards, organised by the UK-based publisher of wealth-management industry news and directories, brings together a top level group of elite advisers and managers in the international wealth industry.

This year’s event attracted more than 400 attendees representing over 140 organisations including the leading law firms, trust companies, family offices, tax advisors, investment managers and bankers in the wealth sector to recognise the achievements of the industry during the past year.

Entries for each category were shortlisted by a judging panel featuring 10 global industry experts. The winners were then chosen by a panel of judges who make up 90% of the vote with the remaining 10% from online voting.

Saffery Champness, one of the largest independent fiduciary service providers in Guernsey, employs more than 125 people across its trust, funds, tax and accountancy businesses, with its fiduciary team specialising in the provision of services to an international client base.

Also operating in Switzerland, the firm’s Geneva office, which opened in 2008, employs 20 staff, offering a full range of global wealth protection and preservation structures.

Director of Saffery Champness Lisa Vizia, who was at the awards evening, was overwhelmed by the firm’s success.

“Being shortlisted, let alone winning, is a testament to the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication of our team in Guernsey,” she said.

“We would like to take the opportunity to thank Karen Jones and her team at Citywealth, the judging panel and all those businesses and individuals who voted for us.  It is a tremendous achievement for which we are extremely proud.”
