Simon Phillips has been appointed Guernsey country manager for Barclays. He will take up the post this month as Ken Bradley leaves the bank to pursue other opportunities.

Mr Phillips currently manages the captive insurance and family office propositions for Barclays in the Channel Islands. He will be moving to the Guernsey office to take overall responsibility for the development of Barclays in the island and will continue to lead the captives team alongside his new role.

Mr Phillips first joined the bank in 2006, and has an extensive experience in the banking, family office, captive insurance and institutional sectors spanning more than two decades in London, the Isle of Man and Jersey.

He is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, has a Certificate in Captive Insurance Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, and a degree in financial services.

Paul Savery, managing director for Barclays in the Channel Islands said: “I’m so pleased that we’ve been able to fill this important role from within Barclays. This is a reflection of the great talent we have within our business.

“Simon brings tremendous experience, perspective and vision and will help us build on the positive momentum we are seeing across the business as we positively invest in Private Bank & Overseas Services to deliver continued growth.

“Simon takes over from Ken Bradley who, for the past eight years, has helped shape and grow Barclays in Guernsey. Ken is respected and highly regarded across our business and we wish him all the best for the future.”
