Skipton International welcomes three new team members to meet growing demand for its mortgage and banking services in Guernsey.

Andy Cohen joins the company as a Trainee Compliance Officer, Glenn Le Tissier as a Mortgage Underwriter, and Alaina Le Page as a Customer Services Advisor.

In the past three years, Skipton International’s team has grown by 40% and the award-winning bank now employs 39 people on the island.

The new team members come from a diverse range of career backgrounds. Andy has over a decade’s experience with Sussex Police as a Police Controller, Glenn previously worked in sales, while Alaina comes from retail.

Jim Coupe, Managing Director, Skipton International, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy, Glenn and Alaina to the team. They bring a diverse set of skills, which, coupled with our training, adapt well to their new roles at Skipton International.

“Customer service is a vital part of our offering and getting the right team members, and giving them the right training to fulfil their roles, is essential.”

Skipton International recently moved to new offices at The Bordage, as part of its on-going expansion plans.

Andy said: “Skipton International is a well established, highly regarded local firm and its good reputation was a major attraction for me wanting to work here”

Skipton International is one of Guernsey’s largest providers of new residential mortgages, and has a fast-growing expat mortgage business, providing buy-to-let mortgages for British expats who wish to invest in the UK.

Glenn said: “Skipton looks for good characters, rather than ‘robots’. This is my first job in the industry but the training on offer means there is lots of scope to take on a role, and to develop, which makes this an exciting challenge.”

At the end of 2015 Skipton International reached £1.075 billion of deposits, making it equivalent to the 12th biggest building society in the UK.

Alaina said: “Working at Skipton is a great opportunity. I meet different customers every day, and have fantastic colleagues, and a lovely, friendly working environment.”
