Sports fans across the Channel Islands are being asked to nominate their favourite sportsmen and women for this year’s Betway Channel Islands Sports Awards.
From today (Monday 6th Nov) the ITV Channel Television website, itv.com/Channel will have details on how to nominate local sporting stars in all disciplines in the following categories;
The PraxisIFM Rising Star, The Source Recruitment Coach of the Year, The Michael Lucas Sporting Hero, The Waves Team of the Year and the Betway CI Sports Personality of the Year Award.
Once received, the nominations will be shortlisted by a panel of judges and the winners will be presented with their awards at a black tie gala event on 25th January 2018 at Beau Sejour, Guernsey which will be broadcast live by ITV Channel Television in two live programmes on the night.
From early January islanders will be able to vote for the winner of the main award, The Betway CI Sports Personality of the Year.
ITV Channel is delighted to continue working with Betway Ltd Guernsey as the headline sponsor of the CI Sports Awards, and to introduce new sponsors to the Awards, PraxisIFM sponsoring the Rising Star, Source Recruitment sponsoring Coach of the Year and Waves sponsoring the Team of the year.
Betway's Anthony Werkman said “Last year we received close to 1,000 nominations which demonstrates the quality of sport we have in the islands, from our young stars, individuals, to our teams and the coaches who bring out the best in them. We look forward to seeing who will be in the line-up for the awards this year.”
