A 35-year-old man has denied committed a grave and criminal assault on a female in St. Helier on Christmas Day last year.
Kurt Miller pleaded not guilty in the Royal Court on Friday, which the Crown did not accept.
A two-day trial was set for 27 July and Mr Miller was remanded in custody until a pre-trial plea and directions hearing on 15 April.
No bail application was made because Mr Miller does not have a fixed address.
Lieutenant Bailiff Anthony Olsen was presiding, sitting with Jurats Dulake and Hughes.
