Be prepared to be spoiled for choice as Jersey's first Francophone film festival, a world-famous choir and an evening of Portuguese culture are just some of the events set for this weekend.

Jersey's Francophone society, the Alliance Française, are presenting their first Francophone film festival this weekend, Cinefest.
Various french language short films for adults and children will be screened at Jersey Museum on the evenings of Friday 17 and Saturday 18 January.
Award-winning children's movie Sirocco et le royaume des courants d’air is included in the line-up, as well as Alliance Française's own film, Le règne animal. One of the short film directors will also be attending on Friday at 17:00 to hold a talk and introduce his work.

Musical engagement charity Music in Action are hosting world-renowned choir The Sixteen on Saturday 18 January to sing a selection of the world's famous songs through the ages.
The group will perform musical masterpieces from Vaughan Williams to the Beatles at St Helier Methodist church from 19:30. The choir will also be visiting local schools as part of Music in Action's outreach programme.
Jack and the Beanstalk concludes its run at the Jersey Arts Centre this weekend.
Witness the hard work of the Jersey Amateur Dramatic Club, which has performed to sell-out audiences for over a week.
Performing until Sunday 19 January, there are a few shows left including a 'relaxed performance' at 14:30 on Sunday 19, which limits audio and visual levels for individuals and families needing special requirments.

Returning to Jersey next week are the hugely popular Oddsocks Productions with a whacky twist on the life of Victorian nurse Florence Nightingale.
From Tuesday 21 until Saturday 2 January, prepare to be transported to the Crimean War of the 1850s at the Jersey Arts Centre in Florence Nightingale: The Lady with the Hammer.
The ever funny but educational production will begin each evening at 19:30. After their local performance, the show goes on a UK tour.

Ever dreamed of being unapologetically silly? Now's your chance.
ArtHouse Jersey is hosting a clowning workshop this Saturday 18 January at Greve de Lecq Barracks.
The three-hour crash-course workshop will be led by clown double-act Henry Lambert and Christina Holmbek, better known as Holy Smokes, and is designed for complete beginners or seasoned performers.
Taking place from 10:00 until 13:00, brightly coloured clothes and accessories are recommended. Find more information here.
Get your dose of Portuguese culture this Friday 17 January with an evening of Fado music and Portuguese food.
Taking place at the new Portuguese Sport and Culture Centre, in the former ROJOs nightclub site, will host live musicians and serve authentic cuisine from 20:00.

Immerse yourself in American blues music next Monday 20 January with Jersey's very own Blues legend Giles Robson.
The performance is an exclusive launch event of Giles' newest album, Ten Chicago Blues Classics, which he produced in Jersey with international legend John Primer with support of the Creative Island Partnership.
Already being named No 1 in the UK in 2024 by American Blues Scene Magazine, the album is already making a name for itself. GIles and John will perform at the Pomme D'Or hotel at 19:00.
