Islanders are set to be treated to an evening of entertainment on Saturday 3 August as Natalia Luis-Bassa returns to conduct Jersey Symphony for a second time in an "exciting programme" of music, 'From The New World'.

Eva Yin-Shan Hsieh will be the soloist on Marimba in Brazilian composer Rosauro’s Concerto No.2, and the concert will also feature Dvorak’s Symphony 9 and selections from Khachaturian’s Gayaneh Suite.

Jersey Symphony is a registered charity that holds regular public concerts throughout the year whilst also running an education programme for young musicians.

Tickets for the event can be bought HERE, with the money generated from sales funding the running of the orchestra.

The performance on Saturday 3 August will begin at 19:30 with an estimated finish time of 21:45.

You, Me, The Woodland & Sea Exhibition

ArtHouse Jersey is facilitating an exhibition to showcase the work of two local primary schools at Grève de Lecq barracks this weekend.

Artist-educators recently led workshops entitled 'You, Me, The Woodland & Sea', which allowed local children to experiment with 2D and 3D art forms such as drawing, sculpture, and land art.

The resulting artworks by Samarès and St Mary's pupils are now on display, featuring mixed-media pieces inspired by the coast and woodland habitats around Grève de Lecq.

They will be available to view on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August between 10:00 and 16:00 at the barracks.
