Beaulieu students will be taking over CRY Jersey’s New Street shop today, and this £1,500 wedding gown will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
The Year Ten students have been rustling up stock from family and friends, and designed a new window display and marketing campaign to support the work of CRY – a charity that supports Care and Relief for the Young.
The project is part of the CRY Jersey Apprentice Challenge which involves teams from Beaulieu and Jersey College for Girls. Later this month, the team that have made the most money will be announced at a n “Apprentice”-style event at the Pomme d’Or Hotel, with Chief Minister Ian Gorst taking on the role of Alan Sugar.
Challenge co-ordinator Susan Parker, Head of Business Studies at Beaulieu, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the Beaulieu community. The Challenge team has received dozens of bags and boxes of donations which they now have to rapidly sort and price, ready for their big day on Saturday.”
