Changes to St. Helier bin collections due to Queen's funeral

Wednesday 14 September 2022

The Parish of St. Helier has changed the times of its refuse collections originally scheduled for this coming Monday, the day of Her Majesty's State Funeral.

States Members approved the day as a bank holiday at a Special States Sitting on Sunday.

Chief Minister Deputy Kristina Moore said the intention was to allow islanders to take the time to be able to watch the service and to pay their respects.

The Parish of St. Helier has this morning confirmed that there will be changes to its refuse arrangements.

"Refuse collections will now take place on Saturday 17th September and recycling collections will now take place on Tuesday 20th September," the Parish said.

"Parishioners whose refuse is normally collected on a Monday are asked to put out their refuse for collection at the usual time on Saturday 17th.

"Parishioners whose recycling is scheduled for collection on Monday 19th are asked to put their recycling out for collection on Tuesday 20th."

Anyone requiring further information is invited to email municipalservices@stehlier.je or call 811708.
