She spends most of her time opening her own heart on stage to the sound her guitar, but local singer-songwriter Frankie Davies also has other interests, including, unsurprisingly, music and the local markets.
Having just released her debut album, 'Wherever I Go', Frankie has been exceptionally busy getting her music into new ears.
Ahead of Christmas and having recently returned to Jersey to spend the holidays with her family, the local girl with a penchant for country music shared with Express a few of the events she has pencilled in her diary...
The Songwriters Society are hosting a Christmas Special on 18 December in a unique private venue on the outskirts of town with Samuel Walwyn, Monty Taft, Steve McCoy, Nic Dinnie and Axon Bower. With songs and stories throughout the evening from local songwriters, a simple supper from the Bean Pot and local ales by Stinky Bay, it’s going to be a wonderful evening that I am really looking forward to.

At £8 with only 30 tickets available, I’m sure it’s going to sell out very quickly. I love events like these, being in a cosy atmosphere sharing stories with likeminded people and having a lovely time with tasty food and drink is my favourite sort of night.
My very talented friend Laura Oakes hosts an evening of live music every month at The Green Note. On 8 January, I’ll be joining her along with fellow UK Country artist Katy Hurt.

I’m a big fan of both Laura and Katy and I can’t wait for a whole evening listening and appreciating them both. I’m also excited because it’ll be the first time I’ve performed in London since the release of my debut album!
The Pirates (previously known as Pirate Party Brigade) are playing a Christmas gig at the Troubadour and I already know it’ll be an extremely fun evening.

Since I’m back for Christmas, I’m intending to fully get in the Christmas spirit and a maybe drink some mulled wine and listen to these crazy folks play.
Americana Music Association UK host their annual AmericanaFest that leads up to their awards show. Although I’m not sure I’ll be in the UK, it’s an event I wish I could go to.

AmericanaFest is a celebration of Americana and Roots music in the UK with a large amount of up and coming artists performing in London. Over the last few years, this event has grown considerably and it’s exciting to see this genre of music have more of a fanbase here in the UK.
I know it isn’t a scheduled event as such, but take a walk round the Central and Beresford Markets. I’ve seen been to most cities in the UK but none have anything on Jersey's markets!
My favourite thing about being in Jersey for Christmas is that I get to spend time in the Central Market. I’ve spent pretty much every Christmas working at my dad’s fruit and veg shop in the market and I love everything about it and it always gets me in the festive mood.

The Central and Beresford Markets are at their prime at Christmas time, with beautiful displays of food, flowers, trinkets and treasures. You can buy everything you need from the market for your Christmas dinner. I think it’s more important than ever to shop local and support local businesses and you’ll be helping a local trader and their family.
