Cyclist injured in collision with pick-up truck

Monday 18 February 2019

A cyclist in his 60s was left cut and bruised after being knocked off his bike by a "pick-up style truck" in St. Peter.

The collision occurred around 07:20 at the cross roads of Les Routers and Grande Route des Augerez last Wednesday, as the 65-year-old cyclist headed towards M&S St. Peter.

As he signalled to turn right into Les Routeurs, Police said he was hit by a silvery grey "pick-up style truck" from behind.

This caused him to fall off his bike, sustaining "cuts and bruises" in the process. An ambulance was then called for him.

The vehicle, meanwhile, failed to stop and continued along Les Routeurs.

Police are now seeking the driver of the vehicle or anyone who saw what happened.

They're being urged to call 612612 or to make an anonymous report using the Crimestoppers online form.
