All eyes will be on the US today as its Presidential Election gets underway – but next week there'll be another taking place closer to home.
Alderney's General Election will be taking place on Saturday 16 November, with islanders invited to cast their ballots at the Island Hall.
The tiny island, whose population totals little more than 2,000, has five seats up for grabs.
A total of nine people will be vying for them – four of whom are hoping to retain their political roles.
The candidates are:
Those eligible to vote can cast choices for up to five candidates, but they do not have to use all of them, the States of Alderney said.
Those who are successful will serve a four-year term.
