The event organised by the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting working women in the Channel Islands starts at midday in the Hotel's Celestial Hall.

WDF Founder Michelle Johansen said: "The under representation of women at the top of organisations is well known, however, too often the simple explanation that women leave to have children and struggle to come back full-time is taken as the complete answer. This is often without organisations looking further into what women actually want to keep them fulfilled in long term careers.

"Our guest speaker, Finoa Pargeter, chartered psychologist and EMEA Head of Diversity & Inclusion at UBS, will look at research conducted into the reasons behind female attrition rates and together we will discuss how this relates to women in Jersey and importantly how we can influence change in the local system.

"Of course we cannot ignore the impact on women of juggling careers and motherhood but with an expected working life today of 50 years plus we need to expand this important conversation in order to fulfil our mission to support women in the Channel Islands to find greater career success and fulfilment."

Around 100 women and men will be at the event which is the second in a series of six planned tackling topics such as career planning, leaving a legacy and gender diversity.
