Who were the mystery festival-goers? Jersey flag once again flies proudly at Glasto

Islanders have been spotted flying the Jersey flag at Glastonbury festival this weekend.

The first was Megan Langlois, a local musician, who played the Mandala Stage at the festival on Friday afternoon.

She thanked islanders for coming out to support her during her Glastonbury set, saying: "‘There were a lot of Jersey people in the crowd. It was brilliant to see so much support from Jersey."

Mrs Langlois was offered the gig in April, after submitting a video of original songs at the insistence of her wife and friends.

Back home in Jersey, she plays in the duet Pretty Vegas together with her wife, as well as teaching guitar and organising open mic nights – all on top of a day job in the financial sector.

She admitted that seeing so much support in the audience helped calm her nerves, adding: "For me, the support from Jersey was just incredible, and I was so humbled. Thank you all so much for coming down."

"I had the flag wrapped around the mic stand. The number of flags that were in the tent – that was so good. I was amazed actually. I was humbled."

However, one of these audience members made it into the huge crowd in front of the Pyramid Stage for sets from bands Texas, Foo Fighters. The flag was even spotted as the sun went down on Elton John's set on Sunday evening.
