Four due to be charged today after death of 16-year-old

Thursday 17 December 2015

Four teenagers face court this afternoon on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice over the death of 16-year-old Morgan Huelin in July.

Four of the five boys who were initially arrested on suspicion of murder within 24 hours of Morgan’s death are due in the Youth Court at noon.

The fifth will also be charged in the coming days.

All five face charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice – a charge which means interfering in a criminal investigation or court proceedings – and one also faces additional charges of possessing indecent images of children, two counts of possessing a class A drug, and one count of importing a class C drug.

Morgan – who was a popular Victoria College student - was found unconscious by a dog walker in Rue de Becquet Vincent early on Sunday 5 July and was pronounced dead a few hours later at the General Hospital.

He had been at a house party at a property nearby the previous night.

The five teenage boys were quickly arrested on suspicion of murder, but after four months on police bail were told that they would not face murder charges.
