There has been a "good level" of interest in the contract to run the island's bus network from next year – with a provider due to be confirmed this autumn.
Speaking during yesterday's States Assembly meeting, Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan said the current contract with Liberty Bus, operated by the Kelsian Group, is due to expire in April 2025.
The Constable of St John said: "The tender process has run according to schedule, and there's been a good level of interest shown."
LibertyBus and its Guernsey equivalent, CT Plus, were both acquired in 2022 by Tower Transit, a subsidiary of Australia’s Kelsian Group. Kelsian, Australia’s largest transport provider, operates services in Singapore, London, and across the Channel Islands.
Guernsey's States confirmed this week that UK-based operator Stagecoach will be replacing CT Plus, which has been operating Guernsey's bus routes since 2012, when the current contract ends at the end of March next year.
The Stagecoach contract will run until 2030, with an option to extend for two additional years.
