Wages for suspended States staff have cost the taxpayer almost half a million pounds since the start of 2012.
Figures released under the Freedom of Information Law show that there are typically around 18 States employees who are suspended each year, and that a typical suspension lasts for just under 50 days.
Since the start of 2012, a total of 3,520 working days have been lost to suspension, at a cost of £467,619.
Of the 74 staff who have been suspended from work since the start of 2012, 19 have been dismissed.
