Summer is officially here and temperatures are set to soar this week and could reach 28 degrees by Friday.
Jersey Met say it will be hotting up as we head towards the weekend and we could be in for a few "very hot" days.
Jersey Met’s Duty Forecaster Philip Johnson said: “Things are going to get better as we go through the week, it was only 17 on Monday which is on the bottom side of normal for this time of year, today 16 and as we go through the later part of the week, 19 on Wednesday and then after that the mid twenties 24 – 27, we may get to 28.
"The main thing is that the temperatures are going into the hot category, anything above 24 is in the hot category, anything above 25 is the very hot category.
"It’s dependant on the wind direction, but from Thursday and through the weekend it will be between hot and very hot. Friday is looking the best but that could change as we go through the week. There’s a very small risk of thundery showers on Friday but it’s a very small risk."
The Met's summer started yesterday - 1 June - although astronomically it doesn't officially start until the summer solstice on 21 June - the longest day and the same weekend as the Collas Crill Island Walk when thousands of Islanders will be hoping for good weather as they walk 48 miles for charity.
