A heifer has been found dead in a field after an unidentified white substance was allegedly fly-tipped over the wall.
Police confirmed to Express that officers had received a report of a dead animal at 3.45pm this afternoon, which the owners believed had been caused by the pile of white substance found at the scene.
The Duty Inspector said that there were no ongoing lines of inquiry at the moment.
Fourth-generation farmer Becky Houzé, who owned the deceased animal, appealed to islanders on social media for information.
She wrote: "Fields are not your dumping grounds!
"We're disappointed to share one of our heifers was found dead this morning.
"The white substance has been sent off the UK for analysis and the heifer has had a postmortem.
"If you saw what happened please message us or call Jersey Police on 612612 with the reference 05/02/24/609".
