Hilton wins again as Lewis returns in St Helier No 3

Wednesday 15 October 2014

In a hotly-contested seat, former Home Affairs Minister Andrew Lewis won what looked like an unlikely comeback as the three St Helier No 3 district Deputies managed to hold on to their seats.

Deputy Jackie Hilton hung on to her job after topping the poll for the third consecutive time with 1,555 votes, while her fellow Deputies Richard Rondel was second with 1,473, and Mike Higgins was third with 1,147, with Mr Lewis bringing up the rear with 1,042.

The district covers the First Tower, Rouge Bouillon and La Pouquelaye areas of town. It’s the only Deputy’s district with four seats.

The closest of the unsuccessful candidates was Christian May, with 710 votes.
