For Hollie, her physicality is who she is on every level. Being able to express herself competitively and share her passion for fitness with others brings her great joy and helps her unwind.
Hollie is a woman of many talents. She has dedicated her life to bodybuilding, personal training, coaching, raising money for charity and running her own successful business.
Hollie's "warriors workout" classes at Carrefour St. Lawrence gym have become a popular weekend activity for many of her clients, and her online program, Joy Training, has been thriving for three years.
But when this active person needs to unwind, what does she do? Hollie has a few go-to activities that help her relax and recharge...
...Whatever I like!!!
I track my calories and macros 90% of the time to be in optimum shape and health. Then that 10% when I ‘unwind’ - it’s all on the table.
...Earl Grey Tea - how sad is that?!
I regularly drink water and black coffee - but I’m partial to an Earl Grey tea at night after training
...To my friend Honor - she has a way with words and always knows what to say when I have big decisions to make.
I also enjoy listening to YouTube channels by my favourite athletes, as well as philosophy and motivation from the likes of Zig Ziglar, Louise Hay, and Wayne Dyer.

...Nowhere near enough!
As a kid I was a prolific reader (you can tell because I learned the word prolific)... but that was before the internet!
Nowadays, I prefer to listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
...Bodybuilding! This has been my number one love since 2017 when I started competing in the sport.
I recently ended a brief flirtation with obstacle course racing, which was amazing. I learned to climb a rope, monkey bars, net crawl, and recently won a trophy in the Wetwheels True Grit obstacle course race.
Now I’m back to my love of weight training and related bodybuilding choreography.
I also do my “job”. I’m a coach/personal trainer based at Carrefour St Lawrence and online with my business Joy Training. I started this business online just before lockdown, so I was perfectly positioned to help people train in their homes, with my ethos “you don’t need all the gear, just some determination and resourcefulness”.
Working with my clients brings me great pleasure - to translate to them all that sport has brought to my life, I cannot call it “work”.
We have raised thousands for charities over the years together, had incredible life changing results, and I recently began teaching my “warriors workout” classes every Saturday.
My physicality is who I am on every level - getting to express it competitively and share it with others… makes me happy.
