Who is the man who has just taken the helm at the Jersey Opera House? And what plans does he have in store?
The beloved island venue, which first opened its doors in 1900, is one of the island's most iconic buildings and a fundamental part of Jersey's cultural life.
The theatre, which has seen the likes of Lillie Langtry and Sir Ian McKellen tread its boards, closed its doors in March 2020 and has been shut ever since.
However, there are, finally, signs of progress with the first phase of £11.5m renovation plans recently approved, as newly appointed Interim Director Andy Eagle explained in this edition of the Bailiwick Podcast.
For 11 years, Mr Eagle was CEO of Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff and has since been working on freelance projects including advising on the redevelopments of Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff and the Ucheldre Centre in Anglesey.
