Islanders have lost at least £3.6m to scams in the last year, according to police – who say this is likely to be just "the tip of the iceberg".
The States of Jersey Police have recently been issuing advice as part of Fraud Awareness Week.
In a statement, the force warned that fraud is "on the rise" and reminded islanders that "knowledge is your best defence".
Police added: "We’re working alongside the JFSC and the Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum, as well as with the Jersey Cyber Security Centre and JOIC to reach out to islanders and raise awareness about the various types of fraud."

The force also revealed that it has received over 430 reports of frauds or scams involving islanders over the last 12 months.
"These are likely to be the tip of the iceberg," the statement continued.
"Out of these reports, 67 have resulted in reported financial loss and a total loss of £3.59 million."
