Jersey's first ever tattoo convention ready to "celebrate art"

Thursday 04 July 2024

A mix of local and international artists are due to take part in Jersey's first ever tattoo convention later this year – and organisers hope it will also draw interest from non-inked islanders.

Described as a "celebration of art", the Jersey Tattoo Convention will take place across the 21st and 22nd of September at the Grand Hotel and outside on the Victoria Park.

There will be artists tattooing, live music, food, entertainment, art exhibits, pop-up barbers and a range of other activities with different ages in mind.

A mix of around 30 local and international tattoo artists are expected to take part.

One of the organisers, Ash Lewis, said the event was intended as a "celebration of art".

He explained: "It's not just for people who have who have tattoos. I want it to be more, because people always want something to do in Jersey."

Ash continued: "This is something that I think will have a little bit of everything.

"I want to have bouncy castles, stuff for kids where you can get transfer tattoos, graffiti walls and stuff like that. There's going to be a lot of stuff going on."
