Next month the Royal Court will swear in its third new Jurat within the space of seven months following the retirement of Jurat Jerry Ramsden.
Members of the electoral college, comprising members of the Royal Court and the States Assembly, have until noon on Wednesday 3 May to submit nominations to the Bailiff.
If more than one candidate is nominated, the college will meet at 09:30 on Monday 15 May to elect Jurat Ramsden's successor who would then be sworn in on Thursday 25 May at 11:30.
However, in the event that there is only one candidate, the swearing-in will take place on Monday 15 May at 11:30.
The retirement of Jurat Ramsden – who had served since October 2014 and was also appointed Lieutenant Bailiff in August 2021 – follows on from those of Jurats Collette Crill and Pam Pitman.
