Lions plot Jersey's biggest ever scavenger hunt

Islanders with a penchant for adventure are being invited to join what is believed to be one of the island’s largest ever scavenging challenges.

This spring, the Lions Club of Jersey is inviting families to find the answers to 100 questions scattered all over the island.

This spring, the Lions Club of Jersey is inviting families to find the answers to 100 questions scattered all over the island.

Organising Lion Ian Barette said he hoped it would be a “fun event and a way of discovering all Jersey’s hidden corners.”

He said the covid-compliant fundraiser was a way of generating much-needed cash for the Lions after its annual Swimarathon and Muddy Fun Run became “casualties” of the pandemic.

They have from now until 20 April to register online and complete the charitable challenge, which will cost £20 to enter.

And those hungry for another challenge - or just hungry for chocolate - can also help out the JSPCA by taking part in its easter egg hunt from the comfort of their own home.

“We would normally hope to run an Easter Egg Hunt on our site during the Easter holidays, but with restrictions the way they are we decided to move our Hunt online. All people need to do is head to our website, hunt through the pages and count up how many blue Easter eggs they can see, pay a donation of any amount to our JustGiving page, and email their answer to me," Fundraising Manager Michelle Parker explained.

The winner, who will get a £40 First Choice Groceries voucher, will be selected from those who submit a correct answer.

“The JSPCA Animals’ Shelter receives no Government of Jersey funding and is dependent on the kindness and generosity of individuals, businesses, groups and organisations, so this is the perfect opportunity to have some fun, support a local charity and possibly win yourself a fabulous prize!”
