Local musicians and Art House Jersey are rocking into 2021 in a collective effort to bring some good times into the New Year.
Over fifty local artists have come together online to perform Louis Jordan’s song, ‘Let the Good Times Roll,’ bringing together individual recordings of instrumentalists and singers from around the island to create a community cover.
Organised by guitarist and singer Paul Bisson and put together with audio producer JP Le Blond, this "New Year's message" from Art House Jersey began in November as a way for artists to express themselves in the face of no live performances.
Musicians involved include saxophonist Philip Le Claire, country artist Emily Fay and Laura Poindegstre, with her famous Great Guitar Build Off winner, ‘Violet the Cow,’ as well as a three piece jazz section organised by Brian White.

“It’s been a long and regrettably silent year for the island’s musicians and lovers of live music,” Paul explained. ‘As well as missing the thrill of playing to a crowd, many artists have suffered financially as a result of being unable to perform.
“This project was intended as a way of bringing local musicians together to project a positive message of hope as we enter the New Year. They’ll all be back on our stages soon.”
He added: “It’s been great fun to put together. My only regret is that we couldn’t feature more musicians.
“I’m immensely grateful to everyone that helped make this project a success, and would like to congratulate JP Le Blond on retaining his sanity after mixing together what was essentially a sackful of mobile phone recordings.”
