A local DJ who specialises in providing the soundtrack for islanders' big days has won the title of 'Best Wedding DJ' at a global awards ceremony.
Melissa Carver – better known as DJ Mel – scooped the title at this year's LuxLife Global Wedding awards, which recognise businesses around the world that make weddings that bit extra special.
Despite being unable to attend the awards ceremony due to it being held in the middle of 'wedding season', Mel was still "really really happy" to have been informed of her win.
She said: "The award is chosen from client recommendations rather than what you look like or what your website looks like so it's been really nice to be recognised.
"It's nice to get feedback from the people who I've performed for on the biggest and best day of their lives."
LUXlife Awards Coordinator Melissa Bramall added: “No matter what their clients are looking for, each of our winners is dedicated to elevating every wedding day and enriching every relationship.
"I truly look forward to seeing what our awardees do for the years ahead, and I’m sure their success will continue to flourish.”
The LUXlife awards recognise all types of businesses across the wedding industry – including catering, venue dressing, cake bakeries and many more.
The award winners are all chosen using client recommendations.
