Among the almost 60,000 people standing on the starting line of the London Marathon this month will be eight islanders running in aid of Jersey's only hospice.
Each participant has shared their personal reasons for taking on the challenge to raise funds for Jersey Hospice Care which supports islanders with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, or who are approaching the end of life.
"My running challenge started in 2021 when a good friend's dad, Mr Alan Walters, sadly passed away at Jersey Hospice Care. I had the most fantastic experience running the London Marathon in 2022.
"Despite my recent injury, I will laugh, smile, dance, and enjoy every moment of the 26.2 mile course!”
