One of Jersey's oldest pharmacies has reduced its opening hours due to "financial and staffing constraints" – leaving islanders without anywhere to collect prescription medication after hours.
From next Monday, Roseville Pharmacy – currently open from 9:00 until 20:30 seven days a week – will change its hours to 8:00 until 18.00 on weekdays and 10:00 until 16:00 on weekends and bank holidays.
The pharmacy, which opened more than five decades ago, is currently the only one in the island which stays open later than 18:30 and one of the few which is open on Sundays.
The opening hour changes are the result of "ongoing financial and staffing challenges", according to a post shared on social media on behalf of Roseville Pharmacy.

The post explained: "This adjustment is necessary to ensure that we can continue to provide the highest quality care and service during our open hours, despite the limitations we currently face.
"We understand the vital role that Roseville Pharmacy has played in the community, particularly in providing access to medications and healthcare services outside of regular business hours.
"Please know that this decision was not made lightly. We have explored various options to maintain our current hours, but the current financial and staffing constraints have made it unsustainable to do so."
The post continued: "We want to assure you that, despite the reduction in hours, our commitment to serving the community remains strong.
"We are working closely with local healthcare providers and Public Health officials to minimise the impact on those who rely on our services, especially during evenings and weekends."
Express has asked for comment from Public Health on what is being done to mitigate the impact of the changes.
Roseville Pharmacy concluded: "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding and support during this transition.
"We remain dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of our community and will continue to do our utmost to meet your healthcare needs."
