Saturday 06 July 2019

A 35-year-old man has admitted an attempted robbery on an employee from the Reid's Pharmacy at Lido Medical Centre.

Renton Harold Cox attempted to rob the employee at the premises located near the Hotel de France on 27 April.

Cox also admitted two charges of "having in a public place an offensive weapon."

He was found with a knife in his possession "without lawful authority or reasonable excuse" in St. Helier on 25 and 27 April.

Two days later, Cox was found in possession of diazepam at Little Grove Clinic in St. Lawrence - an offence he also admitted.

He has been remanded in custody until his sentencing on 6 September.

Cox was represented by Advocate Sarah Dale, who did not make an application for bail, but did make a request for the preparation of a psychological report.
