Man admits catalogue of child sexual offences

Monday 29 April 2019

A man has pleaded guilty to a catalogue of serious sexual offences against children dating back over 20 years.

Kenneth Gordon (67) appeared in the Royal Court this morning, where he admitted a total of 18 offences, including one count of common assault and 17 other charges of sexual misconduct against minors, dating back to the 1990s.

Advocate Julian Gollop, Gordon’s lawyer, indicated his client’s ‘guilty’ pleas to the Court.

The charges predominantly relate to a series of sexual offences committed in Jersey against four different victims all aged under 18 years old.

Crown Advocate Emma Hollywood appeared for the prosecution and the case was heard by Royal Court Commissioner Julian Clyde-Smith, presiding, and Jurats Christensen and Pitman.

It was decided that Gordon will be sentenced for his crimes on 19 August by the Superior Number - a panel that only sits for the most serious crimes.

The Commissioner informed Gordon of this before ordering that he should be taken back to custody in order to await sentencing.
