A 27-year-old man has admitted rape, breaking into a flat and damaging items inside, and fighting in the street.
Appearing by video-link in the Royal Court on Friday from HMP La Moye, Joao Pedro Vieira entered guilty pleas to a single count of rape in St. Saviour last year, and breaking into a flat in St. Helier with the intention to commit a crime on 10 July this year.
Having broken in, he maliciously damaged four coats, a television, a wireless keyboard, a pair of headphones, various electronic items and a pair of trainers.
He also admitted causing a breach of the peace by fighting in a lane in St. Helier on 27 January 2021 and multiple driving offences on the same day, including driving without a licence, uninsured and in a defective vehicle.
Vieira was remanded in custody until 1 November, when he will be sentenced by the Superior Number of the Royal Court, which only sits for the most serious cases.
