Royal Court sentence for man who bought teenager alcohol

Saturday 02 June 2018

A 33-year-old man appeared in the Royal Court yesterday to plead guilty to a series of driving offences and buying "intoxicating liquor" for a teenager from a corner shop.

Sebastian Gasulla-Sole pleaded guilty to all six charges against him.

He admitted using a mechanically propelled scooter on Victoria Avenue on 12 January, which did not carry a registration plate and was in such condition it caused or was likely to cause danger to any person on the vehicle or on the road. The scooter was not insured in respect of third party risks.

On 14 December 2017, he had also been driving a silver Honda motorbike with defective breaks and insufficient tyre tread on Route du Fort.

On 24 March, Mr Gasulla-Sole breached a restraining order that had been imposed in February 2015 by being in the company of a girl under 16, without an "appropriate adult being present."

On the same day, he purchased "intoxicating liquor in a licensed premises on behalf of a person under the age of 18" at Aquila Road Stores.

Mr Gasulla-Sole, who is defended by Advocate James Bell, will be sentenced on 6 July in Royal Court. He has been remanded in custody in the meantime.

The Court ordered a Social Enquiry Report and a psychological report to be drafted.
