Wednesday 24 July 2024

A 37-year-old man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly at Jersey Airport earlier this week.

The alleged incident took place at lunchtime on Monday 22 July.

PC John Shatford, Community Police Officer for St Brelade, posted on social media following the arrest.

Writing on X – formerly Twitter – he said: "Dealing with an incident at the airport at lunchtime. I think we got more attention than the planes!

"One male detained for aerodrome offences and currently in custody."

Police later confirmed that a 37-year-old man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly on licensed premises.

The "aerodrome" aspect of the charge is because the alleged offence took place at the Airport, police said.
