Two men appeared in the Magistrate's Court today jointly charged with 13 counts of drug-trafficking offences.
31-year-old Kieran Davey Rice and 29-year-old Urbino Vieira Rodrigues have been charged in connection with a major drugs seizure.
Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris, presiding, said that the case is "out of the jurisdiction of this court". Therefore, an interim hearing has been set at the Magistrate's Court on 17 August and the two men are up for committal to the Royal Court on 14 September.
Mr Rice has been charged with 10 counts of drugs-trafficking offences, including possession and intent to supply. The drugs in question have an estimated total value of between £415,000 and £950,000 including cannabis, buprenorphine, cocaine and N-Ethlypentylone.
Mr Rodrigues has been charged with three counts of possession and intent to supply, involving the Class B drug N-Ethylpentylone.
No bail application was made in either case.
