A local photographer has teamed up with the owner of a property on the high street to offer Jersey charities the opportunity to showcase what they do through a free photographic display.
Max Young is encouraging charitable causes to apply to be a part of the 'St Helier Shop Window Project' at 27 King Street, which he has launched with the help of restauranteur Man Chi Wan who is developing the site.
Selected charities will be given the opportunity to have a photographic display created for them and placed in the windows of the site free of charge.
Mr Young explained that he would be showcasing a new charity every two months.
He said: "My plan is to produce a portfolio of photographs for the chosen organisations from which we will select the window display that best captures their essence.
"We are hoping to get through at least six charities depending on the construction schedule of the building."
The photographer added that he hoped other property owners would also take inspiration from the initiative to offer creative ways to brighten empty shop fronts.
He said: "This is a prime site in St Helier and it struck me that it could, literally, provide a ‘shop window ’ for the great work that is done by many charities in Jersey whilst the windows would otherwise be empty and soulless."

Mr Young continued: "My idea is to produce a small display of original photography that will capture the essence of what the selected organisations do. This is a great way to invigorate the town centre whilst premises await development."
He continued: "The footfall in town is tremendous and this initiative will provide an excellent way to provide free exposure for the causes."
