Minden Place to close for four weeks for a revamp

Monday 18 September 2017

The oldest car park in Jersey is getting a revamp. The Department for Infrastructure starts renovation works at Minden Place car park today, ahead of a four-week closure starting from 25 September.

The work is expected to last 14 weeks, during which the whole of Ann Court car park will become shopper parking with a three hour maximum stay.

The DfI is refurbishing Minden Place and will also be making some improvements. Where possible, it says bays will be widened and the layout altered to make spaces easier to access, leading to a reduction from 262 spaces to 237 spaces.

A new undercover space for four bicycles will be installed, while the area for motorcycle parking will be increased by 20% allowing for an extra 15 motorcycles to be parked. DfI is also making improvements to disabled parking bays and increasing the amount of ‘parent and child spaces.'

Deputy Eddie Noel, Minister for Infrastructure commented: “We are trying to improve Minden Place car park for users by making spaces more accessible and user friendly where we can, given the constraints of our oldest multi-storey."
