A black labrador that had been missing for nearly a week is finally back home.
Pen, a two year-old Labrador Retriever, slipped her collar and ran away from her owners whilst walking near The Atlantic Hotel in St Brelade.
The gentle, timid dog had only been in Jersey for one day, and was not familiar with the Island, or with the local area.
Posts about Pen's whereabouts on the Jersey Dog Forum Page on Facebook were shared over 1,200 times and dozens of local dog walkers and others have been out searching for her all week.
The owners even set up a food trap close to La Moye Manor, hoping to tempt their hungry dog.
Pen was spotted near Les Creux, near the Poplars, by the prison and then near Beauport Road by La Moye but was finally tracked down on Friday morning by a man just off Route Orange.
Pen's owner - who doesn't want to be named said: "She’s absolutely fine, she's hungry but she's fine, there's nothing wrong with her but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone.
"The Jersey community is incredibly strong, everyone has been amazing."
Any stray or lost dogs should be reported to the duty Centenier of the parish where they are lost of found.
