A missing elderly man has been found safe and well after a dramatic coastal rescue mission to which three emergency services were dispatched.
Reported missing in the early hours of this morning, the 78 year-old had last been seen in the area of Sorel Point.
One fire engine with thermal imaging equipment, two lifeboats and a French coastguard helicopter took to the air and sea in an operation that brought together Jersey Fire and Rescue, the Police and Jersey Coastguard.
Shortly after midday, it was confirmed that the man was safe and well, after the combined forces successfully freed him from being trapped in thick bushes using rope rescue equipment.
He was subsequently transferred to a helicopter, which took him to a waiting ambulance.
